I’m currently studying my A-Level's in Sociology and Psychology at Sixth Form.

My Name is Tamara Martin, I am a BelEve UK Ambassador.  BelEve UK put meaning to the word inspirational. Seeing women come together and turn their dreams to reality has helped me to believe that anything is possible. Being part of BelEve UK has given me an insight to the opportunities that are open to me. The mentor team have encouraged me to interact with people from all aspects of life, from children wanting help, adults giving me advice, to hosting events. I believe that 'BelEve UK' are the helping hand every young female should have so they can become great women that they should aspire to be.

I’m currently studying a BTEC in Music Production Level 3 at Lewisham College. Whilst having a Part-Time Sales Assistant job at JD Sports and writing songs in my spare time.

  • Females within the music production industry inspire me as they challenge the stereotype that the industry is for men. However in particular Ester Dean inspires me.

  • I am apart of the youth and mentoring team. Being a part of  BelEve UK has given me the opportunity to meet and interact with new people, for example I went to an introductory meeting with Polly Courtney.  The Leadership team support and guide on different areas of my life. It’s like having many sisters.

  • BelEve UK have introduced me to a variety of different people whilst enabling me to start the process of networking which is needed for my future career. I have also gained and adapted new skills whilst challenging myself to embrace new opportunities I would normally have turned down.

  • BelEve UK is not school/college it’s not home but it’s a place where you can be you and not be judged, meet new people and be able to get and get the right support at the right time. It’s a place where your uniqueness and qualities are accepted utilised and nurtured. You are given the chance to feel like you have purpose in life; if you have nothing, no money, no friends, no final destination; BelEve UK makes you feel like you have purpose and support you in turning your situation around. They have many keys to doors with opportunity behind them just waiting for you to take that step.

Saffron Worrell

My name is Saffron Worrell and currently I am a Member of Youth Parliament. I am a youth ambassador for BelEve UK, YoungMinds and HealthWatch. I am a Sydenham School 10,000 hands representative and part of the Young Citizens Panel.

  • There are so many inspirational people out there, who have gone through so much and regardless have fought through, so I find it quite hard to say that I have just one inspiration. I meet people every day who remind me why I am where I am and who show me just how much good there is in the world. However, I have to say that two of the most inspiring people that I recently met are Margaret and Barry Mizen. After their son was murdered they dedicated their lives to creating peace and they are working so hard to do this. This world is full of such beautiful and inspirational people, who push me to keep going and doing my best!

  • I became a part of BelEve UK when I attended one of their women’s leadership courses. I really like the message that they were sending to young women, where they encourage, inspire and motivate young women into being the best that they can be. When I told them that I was a Young Mayor of Lewisham candidate in 2013, they said that they would help me with my campaign!

  • BelEve UK has supported me in moving closer to my destiny by providing me with the tools and opportunities that I need. They put  me in touch with various organisations whilst I was a candidate for Young Mayor of Lewisham and this includes YoungMinds, who I am now a youth activist and ambassador for. BelEve UK also provided me with a mentor, who helps to support me and encourage any ideas that I have. Thanks to BelEve UK, I now know where I would like to go in the future and my mentor is continuing to help me get there!

  • I encourage young women to be a part of BelEve UK. The one to one support that the mentor provides is incredible, meaning you get the privilege of support that is tailored to your wants and needs. They help you to decide what you aspire to be, and then you begin to think about how you would like to get there. As young women we need to come together and the workshops and mentoring give you that opportunity. They have something for everyone and they inspire and encourage many young people, such as myself, to being able to achieve as much as they can!

Samantha (Sammi) Plows I completed BelEve UK's Pathway to Success Programme and now currently pursuing a career in administration.

  • My mum inspires as she's a mother of five and has proven you can work hard. Even with children she has always done her best for us.

  • I'm part of BelEve UK, because I completed and graduated from the Pathway to Success employability course. The 15 weeks  programme, gave me life long tools,  I'm glad to say I'm part of Beleve UK as they helped me a lot!

  • It's made me realise who I am as a person now and who I can be, also helped me realise what I can achieve!

  • I would recommend this course to any young girl BelEve UK can offer you all the support and guidance you may need or want. It makes you look at your future  positively and give you the tools to put a route map in place to achieve your goals.

I am currently in year 11 and a member of the Lewisham's Young Advisors .

  • I wouldn't say one person alone inspires me. I have aspirations and I push myself in the direction as much as possible, so one day I will be a successful black woman, who's proud of herself and what she's achieved in life.

  • I'm part of BelEve UK for two main reasons; 1. I enjoy volunteering and this is a cause that is set out to empower young women and girls 2. I want to see what's actually being done to develop, push and empower young women and girls in today's society and if it is really making a difference.

  • With BelEve UK, I've been on courses that have helped me with my confidence and public speaking and this will help now and in the future.

  • I would encourage all girls to take up the opportunities BelEve UK have on offer.  BelEve have supported me in developing skills, in gaining access to resources and given me opportunities.   If you want to be inspired BelEve is the place to be.
